Description
The Goddard Caddis is a timeless dry fly that has been fooling trout since John Goddard and Cliff Henry developed it in the early 1960s. Tied with spun and trimmed deer hair, the fly creates an almost perfect caddis silhouette while remaining virtually unsinkable — it rides the surface with the kind of confidence that lets you fish fast water without hesitation.
The sparse brown hackle and stripped antennae finish the look of an egg-laying adult, making it a top choice during caddis hatches on both rivers and stillwater.
Fish it skating across the surface to imitate a fluttering adult, or dead-drifted for a more subtle presentation.
A staple dry fly that belongs in every angler's box from spring through fall.
