Description
Lefty Kreh's Deceiver is arguably the most influential saltwater fly ever tied, and the Blue White version is a classic open-water baitfish imitation. Designed in the late 1950s to imitate smelt for Chesapeake Bay striped bass, the Deceiver's genius lies in its anti-foul construction — saddle hackles tied at the bend combined with a forward bucktail collar keep the fly swimming straight no matter how hard you strip.
Blue over white is a proven color combination for imitating herring, smelt, and other pelagic baitfish in both salt and fresh water.
Strip it fast to imitate fleeing bait, or slow it down with a jigging motion for suspended fish.
